Montrezl Harrell aka Montrezl Dashay Harrell was born on January 26, 1994, and from Tarboro, North Carolina. He is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

He played college basketball for the Louisville Cardinals. As a freshman, Harrell was a key reserve on their 2013 national championship team, and he received the Karl Malone Award as the top power forward in the nation as a junior in 2015.

As a freshman, Harrell backed up power forward Chane Behanan, averaging 5.7 points and 3.6 rebounds in 16.2 minutes per game.

During Trez’s sophomore year against the University of South Florida, he posted four dunks to give him a total of 63 dunks for the season. His 63 dunks in a single season gave him 107 career dunks which put him in 6th place on the career list.

Harrell helped the Cardinals win the 2013 NCAA championship to cap his freshman season and after Gorgui Dieng’s departure for the 2013 NBA draft, Harrell received recognition in the offseason leading to his sophomore year as one of the top returning players in the country.

On December 9, 2014, against Indiana University, Harrell recorded his 163 career dunk and passed Pervis Ellison’s 162 career record set in 1988. It was then that he was crowned Louisville’s dunk king.

He was selected with the 32nd overall pick by the Houston Rockets in the 2015 NBA draft. He was traded to the Clippers in 2017. Montrez went to the University of Louisville from 2012-2015 and was the first school to start keeping track of dunk stats.

On July 24, 2018, Harrell re-signed with the Clippers and On October 26, 2018, Harrell scored a career-high 30 points off the bench in a 133–113 win over the Houston Rockets.

Later, On February 22, 2019, he matched his career-high with 30 points in a 112–106 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. Three days later, he set a new career-high with 32 points in a 121–112 win over the Dallas Mavericks.
