After graduating from the film school, Emhoff moved to Los Angeles to launch her career in films. But fate made her get a job as a waitress, but eventually, she met some advertising executives who helped her get interested in short form films, thus leading her career in productions.

In 2008, Emhoff established ‘Prettybird’ production company along with Director, Paul Hunter. Prettbird describes itself as a ‘creative think tank’ working with various clients across the globe by producing content for films, Television, and live performances.

Kerstin also founded an organization called Pipelines, which is aimed at helping minorities find a job in entertainment, arts and technology industry. She has also worked in the AICP board for over ten years and has earned the title of the chairperson of 2015 AICP show.
