At the age of four years, Jacquelyn started playing soccer alongside her brothers. She has completed her High Schooling at Staten Island Tech. where she started playing for all four seasons and she also helped her team in entering playoffs. During her freshman and sophomore years, she was named as All-Staten Island Player of the year by the New York Post.
Moreover, Jackie Bruno was playing for club soccer for Staten Island United, Brooklyn Knights during her teenage. During her junior season, she was voted as co-captain and was also selected as UMass Athlete of the Week in 2014. Unfortunately, as everything was going fine in her career, she got an ankle injury that kept her away from playing for some time. She also needed surgery and was out of commission for six months.
Jackie’s misery did not just end up with the ankle injury, as she was later diagnosed with Lyme disease during the second half of her senior season. In spite of all the difficulties that life throw on Bruno, she never thought of leaving up soccer. In 2016, she joined New Jersey Copa FC, a pro-am soccer club. In 2017, Jackie was named as captain in the teams’ Eastern Conference championship.
