Chessy Prout was born on March 8, 1998, in Japan. She is a Japanese-British Author who has published her debut book titled ‘I Have The Right To A High School Survivor’s Story of Sexual Assault, Justice, and Hope’. She was a victim of sexual abuse from Labrie. Chessy is a 19-year-old survivor of the notorious St. Paul’s rape case when she was a student at the Prestigious New Hampshire prep School.
In her new book called I have the Right To, Chessy recalls her legal battle against both the St. Paul’s boarding school and the culprit. At her 15-year age, she was sexually assaulted by Owen Librie on the grounds of St. Paul’s Boarding school.
Eventually, after the incident, her identity was leaked by trolls over the internet and later, Ms. Prout came forward publicly outing herself on the Today show. Chessy Prout told that she now feels ready to stand up and own that had happened to her.
She continued: “So often most of the Victims and the survivors are not given a voice during this process. They’re protected under anonymity, but at certain times that can really hurt us as much as it helps us,” told Chessy, when she was asked on why she wanted to write a book.
Following the publication of Chessy’s book, St. Paul’s issued a statement by saying that they would fully support her trailblazing work to give a voice to sexual assault victims. They praised her for her braveness to step forward to address an issue important not just to schools, but to the entire country.

Chessy has completed her High School graduation from St. Paul’s school and she also went to New Hampshire Prep School. She is the daughter of Alex Prout (father) and Susan Prout (Mother). She also has a sister named Lucy Prout.

Chessy is the student of New Hampshire Prep School until her life was affected due to a court hearing and media trials because of the sexual abuse she experienced from Owen. She has also filed a case against Labrie of sexual violence and he was put in prison for North Hampshire for over two months.
Later in March 2018, her family settles the case with the school authorities and in the process, the school teacher is also been arrested. Chessy has finally come up in publishing her book, ‘I have The Right To A High School Survivor’s Story of Sexual Assault, Justice, and Hope’ in which she sums up all the incidents that had happened with her.
In fact, Chessy Prout was co-authored with Jenn Abelson in publishing her book.
