Andre Moye was 34 years old and has been with the California Highway Patrol about three years. On Monday evening as a routine traffic stop for the motorcycle officer but the Driver, Aaron Luther opened fire on Andre.
Andre was mortally wounded when he was filling out paperwork to Impond the man’s truck. However, Andre was able to call for Backup and three CHP officer arrived at the scene and in a gun battle the Gunman “Aaron Luther” was killed and two other CHP officers were hurt.
Later, Moye was rushed to the Local Hospital, unfortunately, he passed away. CHIP Commissioner Warren Stanley told that “I am devastated by the tragedy that unfolded earlier in Riverside. Tonight, I mourn the loss of one of our own, CHP Officer Andre Moye, who was killed during a shootout following a traffic stop. Prayers go out to all, including the responding officers injured in the shooting.”
Moye’s death prompted an outpouring of tributes from state and local officials. Asst. Chief Scott Parker of the CHP, said that “We had a CHP officer make a traffic stop on a white GMC pickup truck,” he said. “The officer at some point during the traffic stop determined he was going to impound the subject’s vehicle. He called for a tow truck and was filling out the necessary paperwork.”

Andre Moye Career
Moye graduated from the CHP Academy on March 3, 2017, and was assigned to the Riverside County area. After graduating he worked as an Electrician for some time before becoming a CHP officer.
Deborah Howard, who said she was Moye’s stepmother, said she was frantic after hearing a CHP officer had been shot and killed.
“I’m texting Junior like, ‘Junior, you OK? I’m worried about you, give me a call,’” Howard said tearfully. “Next thing I know, I called his dad, and I said, ‘Hey, there’s a shootout going and there’s a CHP officer on a bike,’ and his dad said, ‘it was him.’ It was unbelievable.”
Who is Aaron Luther
He had a criminal history; he spent 10 years in prison for attempted murder. Luther’s family members identified him as “a father of two from Beaumont in his late 40s.” He also had a stepson, and Dennis Luther described him as devoted to them.
Luther’s dad Dennis says his son served 10 years in prison for attempted murder and was released a decade ago. He had been working to get his life back together, but was also depressed and suffering knee pain. Moreover, he was also having problems with his wife.
