On March 27th, Thomas tweeted and said party leaders were blocking a full vote “so they can conceal the identity of those who didn’t come here.” He wrote “It’s pretty clear now, with enough members here to pass the bill, that Pelosi and McCarthy are still working together to block a recorded vote just to insulate members of Congress from ACCOUNTABILITY” and added “Biggest spending bill in the history of mankind, and no recorded vote? #SWAMP.”

Since 2012, he is serving as the United States Representative for Kentucky’s 4th congressional district. After graduating from University he pursued the office of Judge-Executive of Lewis County in 2010, then he won the primary election, defeating the incumbent by a large margin and went on to defeat his Democratic opponent by nearly 40 points.
On January 10, 2012, Thomas decided to run for Kentucky’s 4th congressional district after Congressman Geoff Davis announced his decision to retire from his seat and on May 22, 2012, he was elected as the Republican nominee for the 4th congressional district. Earlier, he was Judge-Executive of Lewis County, Kentucky, from 2011 to 2012.
Before joining the Politics Thomas and wife started a company called SensAble Devices Inc and the company was re-incorporated as SensAble Technologies, Inc, in 1996 Bill Aulet joined the company and with the help of him, they raised $32 million of venture capital, had 24 different patents, and 70 other employees. However, Thomas and his wife sold the company and returned to their hometown in Lewis County.
In January 2019, Thomas was ranked number 1 in the Conservative Review Top 25 Conservatives list. On March 27, 2020, in the midst of the coronavirus crisis, Massie forced the return to Washington of members of the House who was sheltering in place in their districts by threatening a quorum call that would have required an in-person vote on the $2.2 trillion aid package that had passed the Senate by a 96-0 vote.
Earlier, in 2017 he criticized the Republican-led efforts to repeal parts of the Affordable Care Act, saying the efforts fell “far short of our promise to repeal Obamacare” and he also criticized the jail sentence for Maria Butina, a Russian citizen who pleaded guilty to conspiring to act as a foreign agent in the United States.
