In the Joe Biden administration, Sabrina Singh serves as a Special Assistant to the President and White House Deputy Press Secretary. Recently, Harris communications director Jamal Simmons issued an internal email announcing Sabrina Singh’s retirement.
Ernesto “Ernie” Apreza, who presently works in the White House Office of Public Engagement, will take Singh’s post. Apreza previously worked on the Biden-Harris 2020 campaign, as well as Harris’ unsuccessful presidential candidacy in 2019.
Senator Kamala Harris, the Democratic Vice-Presidential contender, has named Sabrina Singh, an Indian-American, as her press secretary. Singh is the first individual of Indian descent to be named press secretary to a major political party’s vice-presidential contender.
Singh served as the press secretary for two Democratic presidential candidates, Cory Booker and Michael Bloomberg, in the past. From the beginning of 2019 through the beginning of 2020, Singh served as Booker’s press secretary. However, due to low polling and lackluster fund-raising, Booker dropped out of the presidential race in mid-January.
Singh then announced that she had joined Michael Bloomberg’s presidential campaign as a national spokesman two weeks later. Bloomberg, though, dropped out of the presidential contest on March 4, less than two months after she made the decision, extending his support to Joe Biden. Political campaigns are nothing new to Singh. She worked for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign as the regional communications director in 2016.
Furthermore, She has also worked for the Democratic National Committee as a spokeswoman (DNC). Singh majored in International Relations at the University of Southern California. She began her work as a press assistant for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).
Sabrina Singh was born in 1998 in Los Angeles, California, the US. She is 34 years old. Singh hails from a family of immigrants who, like her, have demonstrated their commitment to social justice.
J.J. Singh, her grandpa, was an Indian freedom warrior who moved to the United States in 1946. Singh never met her grandfather because he died before she was born.
Singh’s grandfather died when her father, Manjit Singh, was only eighteen years old. Her father returned back to India in 1961, despite being born in New York. Singh’s father, a former chairman and CEO of Sony India, and mother, Srila Singh, immigrated to the United States over 20 years later.
Singh is married to Mike Smith, Nancy Pelosi’s political director.
The estimated Net Worth of Sabrina Singh is between $300K to $500K USD.
