Madison Cawthorn, alias David Madison Cawthorn, is an American politician who has represented the 11th congressional district of North Carolina since 2021. Madison Cawthorn, the controversial Republican, is back in the news after images of him posing in women’s lingerie, wearing hoops, and sipping wine with a group of females surfaced.
After receiving the photos from an undisclosed source “previously close to Cawthorn and his campaign,” Politico first reported on them. Though it is unclear when the images were shot, they show him in a wheelchair, implying that the celebration took place after his 2014 accident that left him paralyzed above the waist. The validity of the photographs has apparently been confirmed by a source close to Cawthorn.
After the photographs went viral, the troubled congressman, who recently claimed that his Republican colleagues use cocaine and frequently attend orgies, proceeded to Twitter to criticize the Left while clarifying that the photos were simply of him. People were eager to condemn Cawthorn and accuse him of “sanctimony and hypocrisy,” therefore, his defensive mechanism failed. They also brought up a previous tweet he sent a few days before, in which he attempted to discredit LGBTQ individuals.
In Hendersonville, North Carolina, he was home-schooled through 12th grade and played football with the Ashville Saints, a league for home-schooled high school students. As a kid, he worked at a Chick-fil-A restaurant.
Cawthorn was critically injured while returning from a spring-break vacation to Florida in 2014 when he was 18 years old. When his buddy Bradley Ledford fell asleep behind the wheel of a BMW X3 SUV in Daytona Beach, Florida, he was a passenger. Cawthorn’s feet were on the dashboard when the SUV collided with a concrete barrier.
From January 2015 through August 2016, Cawthorn served as a staff assistant in Representative Mark Meadows’ district office. He claimed to work “full-time” at the Asheville Citizen-Times, despite the fact that he only worked part-time there.
Cawthorn owns SPQR Holdings, LLC, a Hendersonville-based real estate investment firm. Cawthorn is the company’s sole employee; it was created in August 2019 and has yet to generate any income.
Since Jed Johnson Jr., who was born in the 1990s, Cawthorn is the youngest member of Congress. He considers himself a constitutional conservative and a Christian.
He’s been slammed for prioritizing strong speech above legislation, including wrongly stating that the 2020 presidential election was rigged, which he’s since recanted.
Madison Cawthorn was born in Asheville, North Carolina, on August 1, 1995. He is a 26-year-old man. Priscilla and Roger Cawthorn were his parents. He also has an elder brother named Zachary.
In December 2020, he married Cristina Bayardelle, a college student and competitive CrossFit athlete. Cawthorn and her husband announced their divorce in December 2021.
Several women accused Cawthorn of sexually aggressive behavior, sexual misconduct, and sexual assault during his congressional campaign in August 2020. Cawthorn was accused of “sexually predatory behaviour,” as well as vandalism and lying, by a group of Patrick Henry College alumni on October 17, 2020.
Twenty people alleged Cawthorn harassed his female classmates throughout college. According to a BuzzFeed News investigation in February 2021, the reporters interviewed four women who said Cawthorn harassed them. Cawthorn was accused of taking women on “fun drives,” where he dangerously drove them to secluded regions off-campus while asking them sexual questions.
The estimated Net Worth of Madison Cawthorn is between $500K to $1 Million USD.
