Julian Keane was born in 1962 and from Toulouse Area, France. He is a BBC World Service presenter has died aged 57 after a lengthy illness. Julian is the best-known voice on the global radio station and also featured on the French Service, Europe Today, The World Today and The Newsroom.

Since 2012, Julian has presented the channel’s Newsday program. Many tributed him on social media Joe Lynam BBC broadcaster wrote on Twitter “RIP Julian Keane – One of the best voices you will ever hear on
@bbcworldservice and one of the nicest guys you will ever meet in your life. He was a huge influence on me when I joined the BBC. We’ll miss you, buddy.”

Another presenter Shaima Akhalil said “It’s very hard to know what say… I presented my first ever Newsday program with Julian. He was so warm, calm and supportive. I’ll miss waving and pulling faces at him on my way to the studio. I’ll miss him smiling back. I’ll miss listening to his voice…”
