Curently, Pittsylvania County Police Department has arrested Bernard on three counts of first-degree murder and Police say when they arrived at the home, they found a woman dead in the driveway of the residence. When police entered the home, they found another woman and a child dead.
According to WSLS-TV, the family’s dog was also shot and killed. Matthew Bernard’s father, Nelson Bernard, was not killed, but the suspect’s uncle told the news station that Nelson Bernard was home at the time of the murders.

We are grieving with him and will support him any way we can. We ask that everyone respect the privacy of the Bivens family and the Biscuits family during this extremely difficult time.”
