Bill Daily aka “William Edward Daily Jr” is an American actor, comedian and a veteran of various television sitcoms. Bill was born on August 30, 1927, in Des Moines, Iowa, USA. He is known for playing commercial airline navigator Howard Borden on The Bob Newhart show. Unfortunately Bill Daily passed away on September 4, 2018, in New Mexico and after three days, his family members announced his death.

Bill had a very rough time during his young age as his father died when he was very young and was later raised by his mother and also with the help of his aunt and uncle.

After a few years, he and his mother moved to Chicago. Bill Daily has done his high school at Lane Technical High school and he later graduated from the Goodman Theatre School.

Daily had worked for NBC TV station in Chicago as an announcer and as floor manager. Eventually, he also became a staff director. Daily has appeared in various guest shows like Bewitched, The father’s daughter and I Dream of Jeannie.

In 1972, Bill was back on TV as Howard Borden in the Bob Newhart Show.  He has also served as a panelist on the 1970s CBS game show The Match Game.

Bill has also worked as a stand-up comedian and behind the camera talent in Chicago-area TV where he first met Bob Newhart.

In 1949, Bill married Patricia Anderson and staying for more than 20 years the couple got divorced. He has two children named Patrick and a daughter named Kimberley both are adopted.

In 1993, Bill Daily married to Becky Daily. However, Becky passed away in 2010. Almost being retired Bill still done some comedy shows and occasional TV guest appearance. He was also a guest host on radio station KBQI from 2006 to 2009.
